Gratitude in Madness

Oh, 2020. There is so much we can say about the madness we were introduced to this year. But let’s take a moment to be thankful for the gifts that could easily have gone unnoticed.

 

  • more time with family
  • support of our communities
  • space for ourselves
  • learning new lessons
  • embracing down time

We learned about gratitude and humility - that so many people had a hand in our success, from the teachers who inspired us to the janitors who kept our school clean... and we were taught to value everyone's contribution and treat everyone with respect.

Where to Begin

 

It’s not always easy to remember to be thankful but this season holds so many opportunities for us to step back, reflect, and make a conscious effort to be thankful.

 

A few simple places to start:

  • Try a Gratitude Meditation – this can be as simple as closing your eyes and reflecting on the all the people and positivity in your life for just a few minutes.
  • Write it down – a few lines jotted down in a journal or notebook and help bring out  a list of things in your life to be grateful for
  • For something a little more formal, search YouTube for “guided gratitude meditation” or start with THIS ONE.
